Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and ERAF Industrial Co. Ltd. have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore collaboration opportunities for the development and production of an uncrewed turret in Saudi Arabia. This collaboration aligns with the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) localization efforts.
Under the agreement, the companies will explore collaboration to enable technology transfer, share engineering and production expertise, support investment, advance research and development, and pursue other activities. This initiative also supports U.S. jobs and bolsters the resilience and worldwide reach of America’s defense industrial base. By combining their unique expertise and complementary skills, Lockheed Martin and ERAF seek to create Saudi-sovereign capability and strengthen the Kingdom’s defense industrial base.

The MOU strengthens Lockheed Martin’s longstanding partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reaffirms the company’s support for the nation’s defense growth in support of Vision 2030. By deepening this collaboration, Lockheed Martin is opening new pathways for the U.S. defense sector to work with Saudi Arabia on uncrewed-technology solutions that boost the Kingdom’s capabilities and expand Lockheed Martin’s global market opportunities.
“By combining Lockheed Martin’s two decades of experience in complex turret systems and defense manufacturing with ERAF’s growing in-kingdom manufacturing capacity, we are creating a partnership that is focused on delivering operationally relevant capability at pace,” said Mark Langley, head of complex systems, Lockheed Martin UK. “In an increasingly complex and fast-evolving threat environment, this collaboration ensures armed forces have access to safe, accurate, reliable and proven systems, while building sustainable capability for the future.”

The uncrewed turret is platform- and weapon-agnostic, with a modular, open-architecture design that ensures seamless integration and interoperability. Lockheed Martin will provide decades of experience in integration, testing, support and training, enabling through-life support for the product.
“Partnering with Lockheed Martin is a significant milestone in ERAF’s ambition to become a leading defense manufacturing company in the kingdom,” said Fahad Al-Ameel, Managing Director, ERAF. “Lockheed Martin brings deep expertise in advanced turret systems, integration and defense manufacturing, which will be instrumental in accelerating our operational readiness. This MOU reinforces our commitment to Saudi Vision 2030 by enabling technology transfer, skills development and creating high-value industrial capability within Saudi Arabia.”
