The U.S. Department of State has approved a possible $425 million Foreign Military Sale to Denmark that includes three MH-60R Seahawk multi-mission helicopters and related equipment and support.

The package includes eight GPS/precision positioning and inertial navigation systems, three digital magnetic anomaly detection systems, T700-GE-401D engines, radars, missile warning and electronic warfare systems, communications equipment, spare parts and support equipment. It also covers training, technical documentation, ferry support, and engineering and logistics services.

According to the State Department, the helicopters and related systems will strengthen Denmark’s ability to protect critical infrastructure and support its homeland defense. Denmark already operates the MH-60R, which the U.S. says will help the country integrate the additional aircraft into its armed forces.

The principal contractors will be Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky. The U.S. government said the proposed sale would not affect U.S. defense readiness.
