Morocco Signs Airbus Deal for Ten H225M Caracal Helicopters

The Royal Moroccan Air Force has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters to acquire ten H225M Caracal multi-role tactical transport helicopters, strengthening its aerial capabilities and modernization drive.

The agreement was concluded on 1 September 2025, marking Morocco’s latest investment in advanced aviation systems. Airbus Helicopters, a leading European aerospace manufacturer, will supply the aircraft as part of a wider effort by the Royal Moroccan Air Force (FARM) to enhance operational readiness and expand its fleet.

The H225M Caracal is a versatile helicopter designed for combat search and rescue, special operations, troop transport, and medical evacuation. Equipped with long-range capability and advanced avionics, the aircraft enables fast deployment in both military and humanitarian missions, offering flexibility across diverse operational environments.

“This contract reflects the trust placed in Airbus Helicopters and underscores the H225M’s reputation as a reliable and capable platform,” said a spokesperson from Airbus Helicopters. “We are proud to support the Royal Moroccan Air Force in strengthening its fleet with this proven multi-role solution.”

Delivery of the helicopters will further align Morocco’s air force with NATO-standard equipment and reinforce its ability to respond to regional security and disaster-relief missions. The program also highlights Morocco’s commitment to maintaining a modern, adaptable, and resilient defense posture.

By adding the H225M Caracal to its inventory, Morocco joins a growing list of nations operating the aircraft for strategic and humanitarian missions. The deal reflects a broader trend among African and Middle Eastern air forces to modernize their fleets with proven multi-role helicopters.
