Iraq: 8 US Bell 505 jets received as part of the second batch

The Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that it received eight American Bell 505 jets, marking the arrival of the second batch under Iraq’s ongoing military aviation modernization program.

“In implementation of the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, aimed at strengthening and developing the capabilities of the Iraqi Armed Forces in all branches, the Martyr Brigadier General Mohammed Alaa Air Base has received the second batch of American Bell 505 aircraft, comprising eight modern units,” said the Ministry in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
The Ministry added that “the delivery is part of its strategic plan to upgrade military aviation systems, enhance air training programs, and boost the combat readiness of Iraqi pilots in line with the operational requirements of the armed forces.”
